Careers

Students will be eligible to apply for employment in a variety of health care settings including nursing homes, home/domiciliary care, hospitals, residential care settings and day care centres. Students may also progress to further and or higher education training in a variety of specialities, including but not restricted to nursing, social care, childcare and education. A large percentage of our students progress to degrees in Nursing and Midwifery in Ireland and in UK Universities through the UCAS application system.

Further Studies

At Cavan Institute: Graduates are eligible to progress to the Level 6 Social Care with Counselling Skills course. Elsewhere: A full QQI award in Nursing Studies is now recognised as an entry route into nurse training in Higher Education Institutions in Ireland and in the UK. Graduates of this course in Nursing Studies- Maternity Care have been successful in gaining entry to nurse and midwifery training in Ireland and in the UK.
