Science and laboratory techniques prepares students for further study in this area, in a theoretical and practical manner.

I would advise a PLC course as it sets you up for third level and further education. I'm happy I did it. My favourite part was the forensics module which was very detailed. We did work experience in lab-based environments which was very informative. Cavan is a very welcoming in environment with great lecturers.

The thing I liked the most was we had our own Mac lab to do work when we needed it. We had access to really great software and professional equipment. When I came out of my course I immediately got an internship and everything I used in college I now use in my job which was really beneficial.

Lorraine Smith, from Cavan, is a mature student at Cavan Institute. Lorraine wanted to gain her qualifications in ITEC, CIDESCO and CIBTAC and recognised that Cavan Institute offers all three opportunities to learners. I did two years in Cavan and now study Law at Trinity. The guidance and support in Cavan really helped me decide what I wanted to study. I used the round zero offers to get into Trinity. At times it was quite difficult but I put the work in and I'm happy where I am now
